Important note: The video shows the integration of HubSpot with SAP C4C. Of course, connecting to SAP S/4HANA with Shopware and many other systems is also possible.

Why your shop and your ERP remain separate worlds, even though they belong together?

SAP S/4HANA is the leading ERP system for finance, materials management, production, and logistics. Shopware is a flexible e-commerce platform with a focus on the DACH market and strong B2B capabilities. Both systems are powerful, but only separately.

The SAP S/4HANA Shopware integration connects your e-commerce world with the operational and financial truth from the ERP. Orders become sales orders, inventory levels become real delivery times, prices become consistent margins. Real-time, bidirectional, without media breaks.

What can you automate with the SAP S/4HANA Shopware interface?

The integration enables end-to-end processes from order to invoice.

Automatically create shop orders as customer orders in SAP. Every order in the shop is created as a customer order in SAP with all items, prices, taxes, and customer data. No manual typing, no errors, no time loss. The complete order-to-cash process runs through.

Display inventory levels from SAP in real-time in the shop. Availability from materials management flows automatically into the shop. Customers see real delivery times, no more overselling. What’s available in the ERP can be sold. What’s not available is communicated correctly.

Use prices and conditions from SAP in the shop. Pricing, customer-specific discounts, and tier pricing from SAP are automatically applied in the shop. B2B customers see their individual conditions, B2C customers see current list prices. Consistency across all channels.

Bidirectionally synchronize customer master data. Business partners from SAP become available as customers in Shopware, new shop registrations flow into the ERP as business partners. One customer view for e-commerce and finance, no duplicates, no discrepancies.

Synchronize product master data and material masters. Make article numbers, descriptions, technical data, and categories from SAP available in the shop. The ERP remains the master for master data, the shop always shows the latest version.

Transfer document status and delivery tracking to the shop customer account. Customers see in real-time whether their order has been processed, shipped, or invoiced. Tracking information from logistics and shipping directly in the shop. Fewer inquiries, better customer experience.

From Integration to Results

The use cases on this page are not theoretical, but implementing them requires experience. You can set up integration and data management yourself through MARINI’s no-code interface, or have our team configure it for you. For implementation in your systems, we work collaboratively with you and your service providers. If you don’t yet have a suitable service provider, we’re happy to recommend an appropriate partner from our network.

What the SAP Shopware integration brings you from a business perspective

For: C-Level, Management, Business Development

Order-to-cash without media breaks. Everything runs automatically from the click in the shop to the invoice in FI. Fewer errors, faster throughput times, better cash position. Your e-commerce becomes part of operational control, not a parallel process.

Consistent prices and margins across all channels. The pricing from SAP also applies in the shop. Discounts, promotions, and customer-specific conditions are the same everywhere. You maintain control over your margins, no matter where the customer buys.

Scaling without overhead. More shop traffic doesn’t mean more manual work in finance or logistics. The integration grows with you, without additional headcount. You can launch new markets, new customer groups, or new product lines without processes collapsing.

How daily work changes with the SAP Shopware connection

For: Marketing, Sales, Customer Success, Operations

E-commerce managers see real inventory levels and delivery times. No more promises that can’t be kept. You see in real-time what’s available and can control campaigns accordingly. Overselling is a thing of the past.

Customer service has all information in one place. Order status, deliveries, invoices from SAP are visible in the shop backend. A customer calls asking about their order? You can answer immediately without switching to the ERP or calling logistics.

Sales uses the shop as a B2B channel with individual conditions. Your B2B customers log in and see their prices, their tier discounts, their open items. The shop becomes a self-service portal for reorders, without inside sales having to manually create every order.

Operations coordinate procurement and inventory based on real demand. Orders from the shop flow into the ERP as sales orders and automatically trigger procurement processes. You produce or order what’s actually being sold, not what you assume.

What IT and development need to know about the SAP Shopware connector

For: IT, Development, System Architects, Admins

All SAP S/4HANA deployment variants are supported. Whether Cloud Public Edition, Cloud Private Edition, or On-Premise: MARINI can connect all variants. The connection is made via OData APIs (Cloud) or BAPIs and RFCs (On-Prem). No installation in the SAP system required.

Both Shopware 5 and 6 are supported. Shopware 5 has been end of life since July 2024, but MARINI can still connect it. For Shopware 6, all endpoints are available: Admin API, Store API, Sync API, Custom Endpoints. You can integrate all objects and extensions.

Bidirectional synchronization with flexible mapping. You determine which system is master for which data. Typically SAP is master for prices, inventory, financial data. Shopware is master for shop-specific data like product descriptions or SEO texts. MARINI maps fields, transforms formats, and resolves conflicts.

Real-time and event-based synchronization. Webhooks in Shopware trigger synchronizations as soon as an order is placed. SAP changes are detected via polling or Event Mesh and transferred immediately. You can freely configure intervals and triggers.

Maximum Security and Stability

Business-critical data deserves maximum reliability. At MARINI, security isn’t an add-on—it’s our lived standard. Our security architecture at a glance:

  • GDPR-compliant and legally secured (including Swiss revDPA)
  • ISO 27001-certified data centers
  • Multiple daily backups across multiple locations
  • Incident response and recovery plans
  • Continuous monitoring and personal tech support

This keeps your central data infrastructure stable, protected, and scalable at all times. Together, we’ll find the right integration and tailor it precisely to your requirements.

Frequently asked questions about SAP S/4HANA Shopware integration

Typically, business partners, material masters, prices, and conditions flow from SAP into the shop. Orders, customers, and shopping carts flow from Shopware into the ERP. Inventory levels, delivery status, and invoices are synchronized bidirectionally. Custom objects in Shopware can also be integrated.

Yes, MARINI supports all SAP S/4HANA variants: Cloud Public Edition, Cloud Private Edition, and On-Premise. On-Prem systems are connected via BAPIs, RFCs, or IDocs. No installation in the SAP system is required. The connection is made via standardized interfaces.

Yes, many customers operate multiple Shopware instances (e.g., B2C and B2B) and connect both to the same SAP system. MARINI can orchestrate data between any number of systems. You can define which data flows where and how conflicts are resolved.

Shopware 5 has been end of life since July 2024 and no longer receives updates. MARINI can still connect Shopware 5 if you’re still working with it. However, we recommend migrating to Shopware 6, as all modern API functions are available there and the architecture is future-proof.

Pricing and conditions from SAP are automatically applied in the shop. Customer-specific discounts, tier pricing, and promotional prices flow in real-time. B2B customers see their individual conditions after login, B2C customers see list prices. The Rule Builder in Shopware can work with SAP data.

That depends on the scope. A basic integration (orders, customers, inventory) can go live within a few weeks. More complex scenarios with customer-specific pricing, multi-instances, or custom endpoints require more configuration. MARINI offers both full-service and co-creation, depending on your resources.

We have been working with MARINI for a long time and are very satisfied with the collaboration. We particularly appreciate their high level of flexibility, excellent communication, and fast response to our requirements. The platform integrates seamlessly into our dynamic environment and helps us achieve our goals efficiently. MARINI is a reliable partner, and we recommend them without reservation.
