What can I use the groups for in the HubEngine?

Groups allow you to structure your plans within your account.

Once you have created a plan in a group, you can no longer move it to another group! However, you can move entire groups to other groups.

Applications for groups

Below we list some applications for groups for inspiration.

Departments/ Business Units

For example, you can use groups to model different departments in your company, such as Marketing & Sales, Accounting, Service, etc. This way each group is assigned to a department, since different systems are important for and used by each department. The advantage here is that you can authorize users only for certain groups. For example, users from Accounting can only see their group and the other groups are hidden because it is not relevant for them. Or users from Service can only access their group and have read-only rights for Marketing & Sales. You can assign different rights individually per user on group level. The structure could look like this:

  • Company X
    • Marketing & Vertrieb
    • Accounting
    • Service

Countries

It is also possible to model country structures with groups. For example, the DACH region could be represented with one group for each country.

  • Company X
    • Germany
    • Austria
    • Switzerland

If we combine the application with the first example, such structures would also be possible without any problems:

  • Company X
    • Germany
      • Marketing & Vertrieb
      • Accounting
      • Service
    • Austria
      • Marketing & Vertrieb
      • Accounting
      • Service
    • Switzerland
      • Marketing & Vertrieb
      • Accounting
      • Service

Corporate structures

This makes it clear that you can model any corporate structure. Therefore, corporate structures can also be easily created. In general, you can use groups to differentiate which plans belong together by their content. In addition, groups have also been developed so that you can control the access rights to plans for your users.
