In this step-by-step guide, you’ll learn how to customize the visible modules and subpanels in the DataEngine. This adjustment is important as it helps you focus on what’s essential. By making only the modules and subpanels visible that are important to you, you can work more efficiently and avoid distractions from unnecessary information.
Step 1: Access the Admin Area
- Log in to the DataEngine with your admin user account.
- Go to the top navigation bar and select “Admin”.
Step 2: Configure Displayed Modules and Subpanels
- In the Admin area, you will find “Developer Tools”.
- Select the option “Show Modules and Subpanels”.
Step 3: Make Central Settings
- You can determine system-wide which modules and subpanels should be visible.
Individual Configuration by Users
- Here, you can decide whether to allow users to configure the displayed modules themselves. If you select this option, users can set this in their personal user settings.
Configure Modules
- Drag the desired modules to the “Displayed” section to make them visible.
- Drag modules to the “Hidden” section to hide them.
Configure Subpanels
- Similarly, you can drag subpanels to the “Displayed” or “Hidden” sections.
Step 4: Save Changes
- After making your selections, click “Save” to confirm the changes.
Note: In many cases, the visibility of modules can be effectively managed through rights management. However, it may be useful to hide modules to prevent them from appearing under “All” in the navigation bar or because certain subpanels are not relevant for display in the UI.
