DeepL Workflow Action

The DeepL Workflow Action allows you to automatically translate content, making it available in multiple languages within the system. This article guides you through setting up and configuring this feature.

Configurable Parameters:

  • Source Field: This parameter specifies the field from which the content will be translated. It’s crucial to select the correct field to retrieve the necessary content.
  • Target Field: This parameter describes the field where the translation will be written. The translated text will be stored here.
  • From: This option indicates the language of the source field. If the language is not clearly defined, you can use “Detect Language” to let DeepL handle the language identification.
  • To: This option specifies the target language into which the content will be translated and written into the target field.

Step-by-Step Setup Instructions:

Step 1: Load Fields:

  • Click on “Load Fields” for both the source and target fields. This step loads the available fields of the workflow module, allowing you to select the desired fields.

Step 2: Configure Fields:

  • Choose the appropriate source field from which the content to be translated originates.
  • Then select the target field where the translated content should be written.

Step 3: Configure Language:

  • Select the source language (From) of the content to be translated. If the source language is unknown or can vary, use “Detect Language”.
  • Set the target language (To) into which the content should be translated.

By correctly configuring these parameters, the DeepL Workflow Action will ensure that all necessary content is available in the desired language.

Important Notes:

  • For the workflow action to function smoothly, your workflow must be correctly configured. Refer to our Help Center article on setting up workflows: Workflow Setup.
  • If you want to retain the content of both the source and target fields, it is advisable to use two separate database fields.
  • The available languages are currently predefined and can be expanded depending on availability at DeepL itself.
  • You can only use the Workflow action if you already configured a DeepL API key. See the setup here: https://marini.systems/en/help-center/docs/deepl-translation/
