On-Premises / On-Prem

Software or IT systems that are hosted locally, i.e. on the company’s own infrastructure and usually in a private network (VPN), instead in the cloud, are called on-premises systems. On-premises or just on-prem is a license and usage model that is being replaced more and more by the cloud.
