Data Steward

A data steward is a person responsible for managing and maintaining data in an organization. This person is responsible for monitoring and improving data quality, integrating data from different sources, and ensuring compliance with data protection and security regulations.

It is not uncommon for data stewards to work in close coordination with management and IT departments, playing an important role in shaping data strategies and processes within the organization.

Data stewards also often leverage external data sources, such as Dun & Bradstreet‘s Data Blocks. External data sources can be easily integrated into the MDM, MDG or CRM systems used via APIs, which also allows changes to master data to be integrated automatically. A good example of this is the D&B integration in SAP systems, such as SAP C4C or SAP MDG.
